Baker College Esports
Baker College Esports was established in Fall 2023, beginning as a club. Competing in the National Association of Collegiate Esports, Baker fielded teams in Overwatch, Rocket League, and Valorant.
Starting in the Fall of 2024, Baker fully launched their varsity team: The Swarm. Initially fielding a Valorant roster, The Swarm competes in some of the top leagues and conferences across the nation, such as College VALORANT (CVAL), the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE), and the National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC).
Baker strives to leave their mark on the collegiate esports ecosystem as a top competitive program, and prove themselves as Michigan’s finest.
Achievements and Accolades
In their inaugural season, The Swarm amassed an impressive 36-7 record with an over 83% win-rate. In addition, Baker won their first championship title in their NECC season, as well as other notable achievements such as:
- National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC) Division 2 Champions – Fall 2024
- Playfly Esports Open Premier Top 4 – Fall 2024
- Great Lakes Esports CVAL Minor 2 Champions – Fall 2024
- Playfly Esports Open Premier Top 8 – Spring 2025
- College VALORANT North Championship Division 4th Place – Spring 2025
